Pharmacological action of
Diosmin, which is characterized by phlebotonizing action: it improves the tone of veins, reduces their ability to stretch, reduces stagnation of blood.
The listed effects of diosmin are dose dependent.

- makes smaller vascular permeability;

- potentiates the vasoconstrictive properties of serotonin, epinephrine and norepinephrine.
Pharmacokinetics of the drug
With internal administration of the drug, it quickly sucks up through the gastrointestinal tract into the blood, and after 2 hours it is in the blood plasma. At the end of 5 hours after taking it, Cmax is reached in the blood.
The drug is accumulated and distributed in all layers of the vein walls evenly, to a lesser extent it accumulates in the lungs, kidneys, liver and other organs.
After 9 hours from the time of taking this medicine, the selective accumulation of diosmin in the vessels reaches a maximum and remains so for 96 hours. The drug is excreted in urine and feces( 79% and 11%, respectively).With bile, 2.4% of diosmina is excreted.
Forms of release
