Water purification

Everyone knows that the quality of drinking water coming through water pipes to multi-family and private homes leaves much to be desired. The issue of cleaning the liquid flowing from the tap to remove stiffness, rust, various salts and impurities to bring it into a comfortable digestion sooner or later becomes relevant for everyone.

In order to understand how and what to clean water from, it is necessary to at least in general terms study the issue. The market offers many cleaning solutions, but which ones are more effective?

What is contaminated tap water

Most often the user faces two problems: stiffness and mechanicalimpurities.
Stiffness - calcium salts dissolved in water form a coating on the walls of kettles and pots;boiling does not eliminate it, as was generally assumed earlier, or rather, the usual boiling.

Mechanical impurities - this is all the garbage that accumulates in the pipes of the city water utility( and they are, by the way, sometimes much more unsightly than outside - and on this water food is cooked, tea and coffee are cooked) - rust, soil particles. All that is insoluble precipitate.

Which water filter should I choose?

Nozzle for the

The filters in the form of a nozzle on the faucet are easy to install, convenient to use, but alas, they do not solve the situation radically and have a small resource. Inside such a filter is a cartridge filled with coal.

Maximum than can help such a filter - partially capture mechanical inclusions and bleach. Compact dimensions in this case work against, not for, so there will be little sense from such cleaning.

Filters-jugs

Quite often they are used at home. They have the same cartridge installed, but a little bit more.

The problems are practically the same as those of the nozzle: low efficiency and low resource.

Resin Filters

Or some kind of miracle powders. They generally should not be taken into account, because they have a completely different task - they improve the taste of water. Is it worth it to improve the taste of water that was scooped from a puddle? It may taste more tasty, but it's not cleaner and more useful. ..

flask systems Practice shows that two-league systems can provide initial cleaning. As the name suggests, the filter consists of two containers( flasks) connected together. One flask receives water directly from the pipeline, it has a cartridge made of polypropylene tape for rough cleaning - it removes the same impurities as mentioned earlier. In the second flask a carbon cartridge is installed - it removes stiffness and improves the taste of water. When using a combined cartridge( coal with silver or resin, as well as coal from the coconut shell), you can achieve a more or less acceptable result at the output.

As you know, there is no limit to perfection, so three-league systems follow the two-league systems. All the same as in the previous case, only the number two will be a standard carbon cartridge, and number three is a cartridge with additives to improve the taste. Such a scheme is more rational, since water passes more degrees of purification and, therefore, largely loses all those "utilities" that it contained.

The drawback of these systems is only one: you need to periodically take out used and install new filter elements.

Systems with reverse osmosis

Maximum purification of water. To date, this technology is considered one of the most advanced. They are based on the percolation of water molecules through a conventionally permeable membrane: in the process of osmosis, all chemical elements bound to it break away from the molecule, so the seawater is desalted. To already familiar components for pre-treatment in the osmotic system, a membrane and a reservoir for accumulating pure water are included.

The piquant nuance of such cleaning is that water after osmosis becomes. .. absolutely tasteless. Therefore, processing in a cartridge with an "improver" taste is necessary.

All cleaning systems are easy to install, do not require significant space and serious modernization of the main pipeline, with the exception of osmotic: in it, the cleaning products( impurities) merge into the sewage system.

In any case, the result - pure, pleasant taste of water justifies the means and time spent on installing the filter.
