Feeding of rural residents of Russia

, the Department of Ryazan State University and the Hygiene and Epidemiology Center of the Ryazan Region conducted a questionnaire survey of the population to study and analyze the nutrition system among agricultural workers. The results were depressing - the diet is very unbalanced for all food substances.

The content of fats and proteins in the daily diet of people exceeds the recommended standards, on average, by 19-27%.This indicator is achieved due to excessive and frequent use in food of sausages, eggs, mayonnaise, meat semi-finished products. At the same time, insufficient intake of carbohydrates was detected - up to 20%.It is very important that the ratio of carbohydrates, proteins and fats( 3,4: 1: 2) is not respected, and this entails a violation of the digestion of these substances by the body. The total energy value of a diary ration for an average rural resident ranges from 2,233 to 2,930 kcal.

The lack of calcium, iodine, selenium, magnesium is revealed - this can lead to the appearance of diseases of the cardiovascular system, the musculoskeletal system. In rations of all age categories there is a shortage of vitamins РР, С, В₂, А.

The daily calorie content is incorrectly distributed during the day: the maximum is in the evening at supper. This creates a very large load on the gastrointestinal tract. People, in most cases, take food three times a day( 62%) and four( 38%), with intervals of no more than 5-6 hours.

The nutrition of the population of the Ryazan region in the rural area is irrational, the principles of healthy and balanced nutrition are not observed. This leads, in the end, to a decrease in working capacity and quality of life, the development of various diseases. But is this a problem only for the Ryazan Region? No, it was just a study there. It can be confidently said that this is the problem of the entire Russian Federation. And not only the inhabitants of villages, but also large megacities, which, in the twist of the rabid rhythm of modern life, postpone the questions of their health and proper nutrition until better times. But we always need to remember that a healthy lifestyle without a rational diet is unthinkable.
