This master class deals with wet felting. Dry felting slightly differs in technique. For wet, the following materials are required:
- wool itself( about 30-40 grams);
- packaging material( two pieces measuring approximately 45x45 centimeters each);
- tulle( one piece by the size of the packaging material);
- bamboo mat;
- atomizer( it needs to be poured with warm water and a little washing-up liquid).Do not shake the sprinkler, otherwise the water will get too frothed, just gently mix it;
- a piece of soap - absolutely any soap is suitable, in this case soap with olive oil was used - it has a very pleasant aroma;
- is a circle made of bending plastic, having a diameter of 17 centimeters.
You need a plastic circle in order to separate two layers of wool, otherwise they will collapse together. Prepare all the materials for felting, you can start working.

Place the plastic circumference on top of the piece of packaging material, select a suitable flat surface for this, which will withstand the humidity during felting.
Begin to spread the wool around the circumference, as shown in the figure, as if the rays are moving away from the sun. Lay out in small pieces, and leave about 2.5 centimeters of wool to go outside the circle. If after the end of this stage you have a void in the middle, put it in several pieces of material. If you make a vessel of wool of several colors, as described by this master class, note that this color will be inside the vessel.
Let's move on to the next layer. Adhering to the size of the circle, lay the wool in small bunches horizontally, making an even layer.
After this, make another layer, but now the fibers should be placed vertically.
After that, cover the coat with a tart, smoothly laying it out. Top with a little soapy water. To fluid well penetrated inside, and air pockets are not formed, gently push the top with all the palm. The coat must be wet through. If suddenly with the amount of water you overdone, remove the excess with a sponge with gently slightly pressing movements.
Do not touch the fibers under the fat, swipe a piece of soap over the surface. Then, using the second piece of packaging material, gently rub soap into the fibers for 1 minute.
Carefully remove the tulle, then cover the coat with a second piece of packaging material( the convex side should be on the wool).Well press, flatten, and flip the plastic base together with the wool on it.
Spray a little of the liquid from the spray gun onto the plastic circle, then with wet soapy fingers, wrap the protruding ends of the coat on top of the circle. Too pull when felting is not necessary, but there should not be a weak tension.
Now repeat all the above actions, but it is already applicable to the reverse side. To get a strong vessel, on each side you need to make four such layers. With each layer you will have to spend more time rubbing the soap. You can use one color, or you can mix colors.
After finishing with the wool, leaving a circle of wool between two layers of packaging material, wrap the circle in a bamboo mat. Wrapping, allow excess moisture to drain out. Wrap and unfold the mat a few dozen times, working on each of the two sides, so that the felting was reliable.
It remains only to shape the vessel. Better for this use tool-making tools, which are suitable for children's toy of a round shape or a spoon.
To keep the structure intact, you need to constantly apply warm soapy water to it.
Having shaped the vessel, immerse it in cold clean water, change the water and immerse the vessel until, until the water becomes clear. The last water should be with a drop of vinegar.
