Everyone likes to drink a glass of compote, but at the same time, most understand how insignificant the amount of vitamins remains in such a drink after boiling. A wonderful alternative to compotes are fruit drinks. For their preparation, boiling is not required, so they retain a maximum of vitamins, fruit acids, trace elements and other valuable compounds. One of the most useful is sea buckthorn.
Why does sea-buckthorn fruit juice should be regularly kept in the refrigerator for everyone?
Sea buckthorn has many useful properties, as this berry is a storehouse of vitamins and provitamins, minerals, flavonoids, plant antibiotics, pectins, organic acids, including polyunsaturated, and many other equally valuable substances. And since no heating is required to prepare the mors, all these compounds penetrate into the drink in an unchanged form, so that:
- enhances immunity;
- enriches the body with iron and thereby eliminates signs of anemia, in particular, drowsiness and fatigue;
- accelerates the metabolism;
- has a positive effect on blood composition, increasing the number of normal red blood cells;
- has a choleretic effect;
- stimulates the production of digestive enzymes.
Warning! It is not necessary to indulge in this useful drink without first consulting with a doctor for gastrointestinal diseases related to high acidity of gastric juice, cholecystitis, pancreatitis and nephrolithiasis.
Therefore, this drink becomes indispensable for everyone who suffers from cardiovascular diseases, experiences digestion problems, often gets cold, exhausts from constant fatigue, etc. In addition, regular consumption of sea-buckthorn berries during pregnancy helps to get rid of the vitamin E and folic acid deficiency, so necessary for future mothers to maintain their health and normal development of the baby. And during the period of breastfeeding this drink will help a woman to resist various infections and prevent the occurrence of problems with teeth, hair, etc.
Morse from sea-buckthorn is useful not only in the cold season. It excellently refreshes in the summer heat and saturates the body with useful substances, which is especially important when due to heat there is no desire at all.
How to cook?
You can indulge yourself with a real vitamin cocktail from sea buckthorn all year round. In August and September, when it ripens, of course, use fresh berries. But since only one tree is able to give about 10 kg of harvest, the berries freeze or cook jam from them. Morse from frozen sea buckthorn is no worse than fresh, because under the influence of low temperatures all useful substances are retained in it, which distinguishes it from other berries.
The sea-buckthorn berries recipe is quite simple, especially since only 1 cup of berries, a liter of water and a couple of spoons of sugar or honey are needed to prepare a vitamin bomb.
- Sea buckthorn is carefully sorted and washed under running water. If you use frozen berries, then they should be given a little thaw.
- Prepared berries are put in a pan, preferably enameled, and crushed with potato until the berries produce enough juice, or use a blender.
- The resulting juice is poured into a separate container. At this stage, you can stop, especially if the drink is prepared from frozen berries.
Tip: to get more juice it is worth putting the crushed berries in gauze and squeezing it well, spinning it around the axis.
- In a casserole pour water, wait until it boils, and on a low heat the mixture is kept for 10 minutes.
- In a half-cooled decoction add sugar to taste and squeezed juice.
- The pan is covered with a lid and wrapped in a towel or blanket for 20 minutes.
- The ready drink is filtered.
Advice: you can drink Morse and not unsweetened at all or put sugar in a mug right before use. If honey is used, it should be taken into account that it can not be added to hot.
You can prepare morsels not only from one sea-buckthorn. Very tasty drinks are obtained, which were prepared using:
- cranberries;
- oranges;
- cranberry, etc.
Compote from Sea Buckthorn
In our hectic time, it is not always possible to give 1.5-2 hours to prepare the fruit juice, but to get a fair dose of nutrients you want. In such cases, compote from frozen sea buckthorn, fresh or prepared in advance for winter harvest can come to the rescue.
The compote of compote from the sea-buckthorn, regardless of its condition, is very simple. For its preparation, it is enough to take 0.5 kg of berries, 3 liters of water and 100-150 g of sugar. Sea-buckthorn is put in water and boiled for about 5 minutes. The only thing to consider is that fresh berries are best loaded into cool water, and frozen - in boiling water. As soon as the drink is cooked, sugar is put in it, and the pan is wrapped in a towel.
Tip: To add a more original flavor to the beverage, you can add sliced lemon in the cooking process.
You can also make compote of sea-buckthorn and apples. For this you need:
- 1 kg of sea-buckthorn;
- 0.5 kg of apples;
- 0.3 kg of sugar;
- 0,75 l of water.
Berries and apples are thoroughly washed. Apples are cut, put in boiling water for a couple of minutes. The fruits thus scorched are cooled and placed in jars, and the top is covered with sea-buckthorn and filled with sugar syrup, which is prepared by dissolving sugar in water and boiling the mixture for 5 minutes. Banks are covered with sterile lids, sterilized for 15 minutes and rolled up. To make sure that the can is closed well, it should be placed on the towel upside down. If the towel remains dry the next day, you can hide the sunset in the cellar.
Tip: we recommend choosing solid, sweet apples.
