The cycle of the diet
Here everything is simple: the fact is that the main role in this diet is assigned to constant manipulation with the amount of carbohydrates consumed. Suppose you take yourself to lose weight for two months. This segment is divided into four-day cycles. The 1st and 2nd days of this cycle are low-carbohydrate, protein intake is 3-4 g per kg of body weight, while carbohydrate intake is 0.5 g. The third day is high-carbohydrate, carbohydrate intake may be 5-6 g per kilogram of weight, while the intake of protein can be reduced to 1-1.5 g. 4th day - moderate: protein intake - 2-2.5 g per 1 kg of weight, carbohydrates - 2-3 g.
HowSo your body behaves in these 4 days?
During the first two low-carbohydrate days, the body almost completely depletes glycogen stores. In parallel with this, expenditure is started to cover the energy costs of a new "fuel", that is, fat. And after almost complete depletion of glycogen stores by the end of the 2nd low-carbohydrate day, the process of using fat as an energy source reaches a maximum. However, to continue such a diet is by no means possible, since the organism, which has received a severe stress due to carbohydrate depletion, can "switch" to the emergency mode of work and start saving fat as an anti-stress "pillow", and to cover energy costs, it will start the substances that are least valuable from its point of view, namely - muscle cells, ie, the very muscle mass that gives elasticity to the body and a good appearance of the skin.
Just in order for this to happen, and a high-carb day is envisaged. On this day, you dramatically increase the intake of carbohydrates, while maintaining the same calorie content. To achieve this, you trim protein intake, and the amount of fat consumed is minimized.
Having received such carbohydrate therapy, the body must be "entangled", that is, it will continue to use fats as energy, storing both glycogen in muscles and liver simultaneously. But replenish the glycogen reserve is almost impossible in one day, so carbohydrates are consumed on the 4th day of the cycle, but more moderately. After these four days, the cycle repeats.
In this case, the body weight changes as follows: in the first two days of carbohydrate depletion, you can lose 0.5-1 kg, and even on the third day, when you eat a lot of carbohydrates, this process continues. By the evening of the 4th - in the morning of the 5th day a significant part of the lost weight is returned, but do not get upset. The fact is that those carbohydrates that you ate, led to a water retention in the body( 1 g of carbohydrates binds 4 g of water) and again typed grams - not fat. By the morning of the 6th day( the 2nd day of the second microcycle), you will weigh as much as weighed before the carbohydrate loading began.
