Today the words "coach" and "training" are very popular.
In the network you can find a lot of ads from personal growth trainers, business consultants, practicing psychologists, coaches and other representatives of interesting professions who call for their trainings.
The attitude to coaching in modern society is diametrically opposite: someone sings dithyrambs to the coaches who helped completely change life and achieve success, someone with foam at the mouth proves the futility of this profession and calls all coaches charlatans.
But there is also a category of people that thinks, how to become a coach , considering this profession suitable for themselves.
But can everyone at once turn into coaches?
Naturally - no.
Coaching is not entertainment.
This is a serious profession, which( like any other specialty) puts forward certain requirements for applicants.
Who is the coach and how do they become?
The words "coach" and "coaching" came to Russian from English almost in its original form.
For the first time the term "coach" appeared in everyday life in the 30s of the XIX century due to the students of Oxford University.
And already then the coach meant practically the same as now: the so-called coaches, that helped the students prepare for the exams.
Since then, the profession of the coach has evolved and acquired a wider range of activities.
Those who want to become coaches should know that they will have to:
- help the client identify personal goals;
- to facilitate their implementation;
- provide psychological assistance;
- advise on various issues;
- to improve the performance of a particular person or a whole team;
- to guide the way true, but do it gently and delicately so that the coach is not confused with the mentor;
- choose the fastest and most efficient way to achieve the goal set by the client;
- promote career growth;
- to understand the psychology of work;
- perform some management work;
- find an indirect way to guide, stimulate and develop its customers.
In short, any successful and professional coach should be able to do a lot and more to form a client base and earn well.

Become a coach, and not pretend to them!
Not so long ago a page of one of my facebook girlfriends broke out a discussion.
This very friend wrote an angry post against the coaches, they say, charlatans are such, deceive the gullible people who carry money.
This post ran to comment on a fairly large number of people( honestly, I did not even think that the topic of coaching interests many).
Commenters divided into two warring camps: those who love coaches and those who hate them.
Arguments of opponents of the coach:
- Coaches are useless.
- These coaches themselves have not achieved anything, while others are trying to teach.
- Coaches are charlatans that lure money from people.
- Coaches are lazy people who do nothing, instead of finding a normal job.
- Everyone here earns a lot of money for some training, doing nothing at the same time, but I'm content with pennies at school / office / shop / library( I need to emphasize / add).
Counterfactors of Coach Defenders:
- I attend trainings and they help me to grow and develop.
-
The coach does not have to be in the past an Olympic champion to raise an Olympic champion.
The work of a coach is good to teach, not to boast about your achievements.
- Nobody forces pupils to pay money for trainings, everything happens on a voluntary basis.
- The work of the coach is hard, although he was at the training for a long time, he knows this very well.
- So find yourself a normal job, or just whine a lot.
I did not get involved in the discussion( why waste time?), But I enjoyed reading the comments, since I planned to write an article about how became a coach .
And that's the conclusion for yourself: if you really decided to make coaching your specialty, then become a superprofessional so that thousands of people could say about you: "This coach really helped me", and not an imitator that damned clients will curse.
