As a rule, such diseases start suddenly and are accompanied by a sufficiently strong fever. Parents, friends and acquaintances usually advise taking honey at a temperature. But is this justified?
The composition of honey is incredibly rich. It includes a lot of substances that have antibacterial, antipyretic, immunostimulating, diaphoretic effects, so, of course, for colds and ARD, honey can be used for medicinal purposes. But it is very important to determine exactly what caused the fever, as the fever may be the result of an exacerbation of any chronic disease or even appendicitis. Therefore, it is better to visit the doctor first and find out what ailment caused the temperature rise, how hard it is and whether there will be enough honey or whether it is necessary to take antibiotics or other medicines.
Warning! You can consume honey even to diabetics, but in such cases it is better to choose a product from a white acacia, sage, heather or chestnut, and spring collection, and ideally - in honeycombs.
But before you start using honey to normalize body temperature, you should make sure that there is no allergy to the grade that you plan to take, even if before that, the beekeeping products were transferred normally. This is necessary because it is very easy to acquire falsification, and the allergic reaction can be the result of the use of various chemical impurities, rather than the honey itself. Therefore, to sow a drop of sweet delicacy and evaluate the reaction is necessary. If after that there are no unpleasant sensations in the mouth, there will not be edema of mucous membranes or tongue, you can safely start treatment with honey.
Thus, honey can be used with:
- ARVI;
- bronchitis;
- pharyngitis;
- laryngitis;
- tracheitis;
- pneumonia.
Warning! Healing of serious diseases is not possible only with honey. In such cases, it can only be used as an additional means.
And what about the children?
For the above reasons, many give honey at children's temperature. It is rational for easily current diseases of the upper respiratory tract, tonsillitis, pharyngitis and ARVI if the child does not have allergies, diabetes and is already more than 2 or even 3 years old. But it is risky for infants and toddlers to give up any beekeeping products before the age of 2, since their digestive and immune systems are still immature, in connection with which the risk of developing allergic reactions of varying severity is quite high.
