The main task in the treatment of dental pulpitis is the protection of the root pulp. The preserved root pulp stops the penetration of pathogenic microbes into the tissues of the milk teeth until the appearance of permanent ones.
Modern dentistry for the treatment of pulpitis in children and support the viability of the root pulp offers the drug Pulpotec( Pulpotec) produced in Switzerland. This radiopaque preparation copes with the treatment of live molars( temporal and permanent) by pulpotomy, besides, it has no effect on root resorption.
Ingredients included in the pulpotek contribute to aseptic scarring of the pulp and allow its structure to be preserved.
The tooth functions normally, and also does not disturb the toothache either during treatment or after it. The product does not pigment the dental tissues and does not contain harmful toxins.
Plus, Pulpotec allows you to avoid possible complications after the treatment. The medicine does not contain eugenol, so it is possible to fix various materials intended for restoration of teeth.

Indications and contraindications for use
Applies to the pulpotek with:
- for vital permanent pulpotomy of permanent teeth in adult patients, including those where a subsequent prosthesis is required( installation of a crown or bridge);
- pulpitis of vital non-permanent teeth in children;
- treatment of calcified root canals in elderly patients;
- restoration of molars, in which roots have not yet fully formed;
- treatment of infected non-permanent molars by pulpectomy, including in the presence of inflammation( in this case, the medication is not injected into the temporary tooth channels in children).
The drug has found wide application in the children's dental practice.
The drug is not recommended for use in such cases:
- the patient shows hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
- the patient suffers from chronic diseases( diabetes, inflammation of the kidneys, leukemia, etc.)
- in pulpitis diffuse type.
Methods of using the drug
The drug is used in both traditional pulpotomy and laser therapy. The drug is polymerized within 6-7 hours.
There are two methods of treating pulpitis with the help of Bulbotek:
- Standard .The drug is mixed in powder and liquid form to the state of the paste. After this, the obtained creamy drug is inserted into the pulp chamber. In order for the paste to adhere tightly to the canal mouth and its walls, a roller of cotton wool is placed between the jaws, the patient bites it until the substance is completely adapted. After the cavity is sealed with a temporary material.
- Alternative .With this method, powder and liquid are mixed up to obtain a creamy substance on the glass, forming a small ball from it. This putty of consistency putty is placed in the pulp chamber, pressed with a tool or a cotton disc, after the substance has been frozen, the cavity is sealed with temporary cement.
On the next visit, the dentist performs restoration with composites. The composite material can be attached directly to the pulpock, or it can be isolated from the filling material with a thin layer of a special dental pad.
Use the product carefully. In case of contact with the substance on soft tissues, it must be washed off with water. Do not inhale or swallow the components of the medicine - it is toxic. Store the product in a dark place at a temperature of 5-30 ° C.
Pulpotec is not used for the pulp extraction procedure.
Side effects of
Patients tolerate the drug well. Often the pain does not cause the drug, however, in some cases the following undesirable reactions may occur:
- mild pain, which usually occurs after a subsequent visit to the dentist( pain relief is made by adding a new portion of the material after removing the primary and setting a temporary seal);
- periodic arthritic pain that occurs after removal of inflammation by drugs;
- acute pain is extremely uncomfortable( 1: 1000), the cause of severe pain can be the treatment of an impractical molar, or the detection of perforation of the cavity wall or fracture of the dental crown( in this situation, the temporary material is removed, diagnosed and treated with pulpectomy or tooth removed).
Doctors say
From reviews of doctors who use Pulpotec in their medical practice.
In my practice I use the drug for three years already. There are no complaints from patients, fortunately. One minus - you can only treat a viable pulp, which bleeds when you open it.
Nina Olegovna, children's dentist
I spend a few years pulpotomy on vital molars using Pulpotec. Under anesthesia I am amputating the pulp of the crown, I make the hemostasis and I introduce the paste-gruel from this material.
After this I apply the glass ionomer gasket and restore the crown of the tooth. The drug completely justified itself under these conditions.
