Calasept is a Swedish product. The material is available in the form of a paste, the basis of which is sterile calcium hydroxide in pure form. The properties of this chemical element allow us to stimulate recovery processes and reduce the severity of inflammatory reactions.
The product is fully absorbed by the structure of the dental tissue. This property makes it possible to use it as a substance for temporary filling of the tooth root. This manipulation sterilizes the root canals, and this is important at a significant risk of penetration of the infection into the deep layers of the root dentin against the background of purulent-inflammatory processes.
This material is characterized by a low degree of viscosity and a uniform consistency. Due to this, it can be recruited using conventional syringes.
The substance is easy to use - it does not need any preparatory measures.
Calacept contains the following elements: 
- calcium hydroxide;
- barium sulfate;
- is an isotonic sterile solution.
The kit includes - 5 syringes filled with paste, and 30 needles for single use. These syringes are airtight.
They are packed in a plastic box, which is also sealed. This is the key to the lack of interaction of the active substance with air, since under similar conditions it becomes a more rigid component and loses its properties.

Due to the fact that the interaction of calcium hydroxide with air contributes to the formation of a hard substance such as calcium carbonate, the Kalasept material is firmly anchored in the root canals. This property makes it possible to apply it for sealing root canals. In addition, it provides dentin protection against destructive effects.
Pasta has a pronounced antibiotic property and prevents the penetration of bacteria and other pathogens into the root canals. Therefore, it can be used even in the treatment of deep caries.
Since the composition of the agent includes calcium compounds, it promotes regenerative processes in internal tissues. The use of the paste guarantees the formation and development of natural dentinal tubules and the formation of hard tissues at the tops of the root canals.
Such material is able to isolate deep cavities, and also to repair cracks and perforations.
When used
Calasept is used for a variety of therapeutic purposes. In particular, for:
- Protection of pulp and dentin .In this case, the paste is used as a liner between the cavity and the tooth tissues. This provides antibacterial protection, and in the future - the formation of a full protective dentin layer.
- Treatment of deep caries .The action of the material is similar to that described above.
- Therapy of fractures of roots and perforations, cracks of .
- Reconstruction of opened pulp .Kalasept, applied to the damaged horn, stimulates the development of secondary dentin, which protects soft tissues.
- Treatment of tooth tissues affected by infection .Due to the high degree of antibacterial protection, almost 100% of microorganisms in the pulp and dentine die within 6 minutes after application of the material. Complete sterility of the canal is achieved within 1-4 weeks.

Instructions for use
Before using the filling material in the container with the substance( syringe cartridge), press the needle in order to pierce the protective 
membrane, and then remove the cap from it and bend it in the shape of the channel.
Next, the required amount of material is squeezed out of the syringe. To put on the necessary area( visually on a video-clip).
Tanks with pasta are suitable for multiple use. To keep an open, but not fully used cartridge, you need to place a cotton ball moistened with distilled water in a short part of the needle shell. Cover the top of the syringe with a short part of the shell with wet cotton wool.
Store the material at room temperature. Storage space should not be accessible to penetration of direct sunlight.
Special instructions
Do not freeze the paste. It is suitable for two years from the date of issue.
The material is rather caustic, so it should be avoided on exposed skin and mucous membranes, as well as in the esophagus and respiratory tract.
In case of contact with skin or eyes, immediately flush these areas with water. If the paste was swallowed, then you should drink half a liter of water or milk and immediately consult a doctor.
