Canal fillers for root canal filling

Channel-filler is an endodontic tool used in the field of dentistry. As a rule, it is made in the form of a conical shape wound wound counter-clockwise, and is used during the filling-filling procedure for the root canal of the tooth with a special composition( it can be paste, cement or a siler).

Another important function of this tool is to ensure the uniform introduction of the above substances throughout the entire length of the canal, as well as to introduce calcium hydroxide as a temporary medication.

Varieties of dental instruments

There are basically two main types of dental devices in question: machine and manual.

The machine is a previously described conical spiral, equipped with a holder for fixing it in the tip. Special paste is fed into the channel gradually, during the rotation. Filling is performed at low speed, usually from 100 to 200 rev./ min.

Manual by design, it is identical to the previous view, the only difference is that it is equipped with an aluminum handle instead of the holder, and the rotation is done manually.

Also canalizers can be divided according to their intended purpose for different types of tips-for straight and angled, and for the length of the working area:

  • short( length 17 mm);
  • long( length 21 mm);
  • extra long( 25 mm).

It would be superfluous to add that in each of the previously considered groups there are 4 types of instruments differing from each other in cross-sectional diameter.

Thanks to this, it is possible to select the most suitable filler based on a specific situation and fill the small channel as comfortably as possible, and in the case of a larger one this will ensure the execution of this procedure with the optimal speed.

Sets Lentulo

When manufacturing their tools, the manufacturer uses a special color designation, which allows the dentist to quickly and, most importantly, accurately select the right fixture. Consider the correspondence of the color markers of the Lentulo channel fillers to their tasks:

  1. Red marking. It is used for preliminary processing using tools 030, 035.
  2. Blue label. Used for pre-treatment when using products 040, 045.
  3. Green marking. Required for preprocessing with tools 050, 055, and 060.
  4. Black label. It is used for pre-treatment if necessary using tools 070, 080, and 090.

Many practicing dentists agree that Lentulo channel fillers are by far the most suitable tools for the procedure for tooth filling.

This degree of trust has been achieved by a number of features that put it above competitors' similar products:

  • uses only high quality steel manufactured in accordance with ISO standards;
  • thanks to the conical shape, the channel is filled as high as possible, which allows reducing the time of the procedure;
  • during operation with the instrumentation is guaranteed the absence of air bubbles;
  • spiral is made of special material, which excludes its fracture;
  • devices are produced for both manual and machine work.
It is important to note that the use of this channel filler at a speed exceeding 500 vol./ min.categorically unacceptable.

Kmiz is the only( not) worthy competitor of the

This tool is produced in two sets according to the types of tips( straight and angular).In this case, the size of the spiral should be identical to the dimensions of the borer and drill.

The machine version does not allow the use of the device at speeds higher than 500 rpm./ min. The resource of each tool is within 3 cycles. Stainless steel is used for manufacturing.

In summary, you can make a small comparison of the fillers for the channels of both manufacturers. First of all, it should be noted that Lentulo, thanks to the material from which it is produced, has excellent water-repellent properties, and therefore there is no need to thoroughly dry it( unlike KMIZ, which, as already mentioned, is made of stainless steel).

Another advantage of the first is the plasticity of the material from which it is made, which greatly facilitates the work of the dentist when sealed.

A few words about the prices of a dental instrument. The cost of Lentulo varies within 485 rubles, and the price for Kmiz is in the range from 379 to 500 rubles.
