Bifluoride( Bifluorid 12) is a fluoride varnish that is designed for deep fluoridation and prevention of caries. Due to the colorlessness of the varnish, it is very often used for cosmetic local fluorination.
The material has good thermal insulation, which allows for deep remineralization with a lasting effect. Advantages of the varnish are:
- rapid drying;
- decreased sensitivity of teeth;
- transparency of the material, due to which the teeth have a natural color;
- is economical and easy to operate;
- wide range of applications;
- the possibility of deep fluorination and the duration of the created effect.

Composition and Form of Release
Bifluoride 12 contains a mixture of calcium fluoride and sodium fluoride. It is produced in a kit containing a glass vial with a varnish( 4 g), a bottle with a solvent( 10 g) and foam rubber tampons for applying varnish.
On average, one bottle is enough for 320 procedures.
Healing properties
Bifluoride dries very quickly, is firmly fixed on dentin and dry tooth enamel. Thus, long-term fluorisation of the surfaces that have been subjected to extinction is provided. Also, the material is waterproof and able to create high insulation and protective film. Among other properties of the remedy, the following are noted:
- Decrease in hypersensitivity of teeth .The varnish easily enters the open dentinal tubules, thus blocking fluid circulation through these tubules. Thus, pain susceptibility is eliminated. Systematic fluoridation of teeth Bifluoride is the most effective way to prevent caries.
- Antibacterial effect of .It is caused by the retention of fluorides by oxidation of carbohydrates. The material protects the root surface from the influence of the products of vital activity of various microorganisms.
- Increased stability of hard tooth tissues .Under the influence of fluorine, the remineralization process is activated, as a result of which the resistance to acids and cariogenic bacteria increases.
Thanks to the combination of fluoride combinations( calcium fluoride and sodium fluoride), a long fluorination effect is provided. In most cases, after the first use there is a significant improvement, and the teeth no longer suffer from external stimuli.
Indications for use
Bifluorid 12 is used in the following cases:
- restoration of the mineral composition of the tooth;
- caries prevention;
- deep fluorination;
- treatment of hypersensitivity to the neck of the tooth;
- decreased sensitivity in the process of prosthetics on living teeth;
- hyperesthesia and protection of the neck of the teeth;
- protection of the live stump of the operated tooth;
- Removing and securing braces, orthodontic structures.
Instruction for use
Before use, the vial with a varnish should be shaken thoroughly. In order for shaking to be more effective, there are special metal balls inside the vial.
Initially, the teeth are cleaned from the plaque with a special toothpaste that does not contain fluoride. This can also be done with hygienic toothpaste. Further, the teeth are cleaned of saliva with rolls of cotton wool.
The surface of the enamel is dried by air, after which a thin layer of varnish is applied to it. The application of the material is carried out with the help of usual applicators or balloons made of foam rubber, which are included in the kit. In the case of persistence of hyperesthesia, a coat of varnish should be applied again after five to seven days.
After drying the varnish( 10-15 seconds), a transparent thin film forms. In order for the anticaries effect to be more stable, the application procedure can be repeated after 3-5 months.
Special instructions
During the first two days after the fluoridation procedure, it is not recommended to brush your teeth with a stiff toothbrush. In the first two to three days after treatment of the surface of the enamel, it is not recommended to eat hard, too hot or too cold food.
Compared to similar materials, Bifluoride is more economical( by 66%).To establish the necessary thickness of the varnish, a special solvent is used, which is included in the general set.
When thickening the product, it is recommended to dilute it, since the applied layer will be thick, because of this it will be very easy to separate from the enamel.
After use, the vial with the material must be immediately closed and further monitor that the plug is tightly closed.
