Tantum Verde: instructions for use

Tantum Verde is a new generation of non-steroids and is an effective anti-inflammatory agent, indicated for topical application. As the main active ingredient is used the derivative of indazoles in the form of benzidamine hydrochloride.

Composition depending on the form of release

Tantum Verde is available in the following forms:

Spray
Is a transparent colorless liquid, differs mint smell. One dose contains 125 μg of active substance. Simultaneously with benzidamine hydrochloride , the composition contains: glycerol, ethanol at a concentration of 96%, polysorbate 20, menthol flavor, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, sodium bicarbonate, saccharin, purified water.

A polyethylene bottle with a pump, to which a pressurized device equipped with a folding cannula, contains 30 ml of the drug or 176 doses.

0.15% concentration solution
Is a clear liquid of green color, differs mint smell. In 100 ml of the drug contains 150 mg of active ingredient. Together with the active substance, the presence of such elements is provided:

• glycerol;
• ethanol at a concentration of 96%;
• yellow quinoline dye 70%( E104);
• menthol flavor;
• methyl parahydroxybenzoate;
• sodium hydrogen carbonate;
• saccharin;
• purified water;
• polysorbate 20;
• of the patented blue dye 85%( E131).

One glass bottle contains 120 ml of the drug. For ease of use, it is additionally equipped with a graduated propylene cup with measures of 15 and 30 ml.

Tablets
Intended for resorption in the oral cavity. In one box there is a pair of aluminum blisters for 10 tablets in each( 1 tablet contains 3 mg of the main substance).

Benzodamine hydrochloride is supplemented with isomaltose, racemettol, mint and lemon flavors, aspartame, citric acid, quinoline yellow color, indigo carmine( E132).

Action of

As a result of local use of the agent:

• , cell membranes stabilize;
• is suppressed synthesis of prostaglandins, due to which there is a decrease in inflammation of the tissues of the oral cavity, a reduction in pain.

The special feature of Tantum Verde is its good absorption through the mucous membranes and the maximum saturation of inflamed tissues with curative substances with the accumulation effect.

The drug is excreted through the digestive and urinary systems.

To preserve the properties, it is necessary to store the drug at room temperature( maximum 25 degrees) in a place protected from sunlight, out of reach of children. After 4 years from the date of manufacture the product becomes unusable.

Indications for use

In dentistry, Tantum Verde is indicated for the treatment of the following inflammatory processes:

• 

  Periodontal disease

  Gingivitis, glossitis or stomatitis caused by various causes, including the consequences of chemo- and radiotherapy;

• Candidiasis of the oral cavity;
• Calculous inflammation of the salivary glands;
• Periodontal disease.

Also, the drug is recommended to ease the condition after trauma or surgery, treatment or removal of teeth, when it is necessary to prevent the development of infectious complications.

If the pathology at which the drug is prescribed has an infectious-inflammatory character, Tantum Verde is used in combination with other drugs.

Instruction for use

A clear advantage of this tool is its release in various forms, so you can find a suitable solution for patients of any age. Achieving the maximum therapeutic effect is possible provided that the recommendations on the use of a certain form are observed in accordance with the annotation to the drug.

Spray

Adults - with an interval of 1.5-3 hours inject into the oral cavity 4-8 doses of the drug. Can be used in the treatment of the elderly.

Children 6 to 12 years old - with the above periodicity, inject the drug in an amount of 4 doses.
Children under 6 years old - to determine the dose, it is important to know the body weight of the child( 1 dose is calculated for 4 kg of the baby's weight).The frequency of injections is similar to the previous categories. The maximum allowed number of doses per day is 4.

Solution

Used for rinses. For one procedure, 15 ml or one tablespoon of the drug is needed. The interval between rinses should be 1.5-3 hours. At the end of the procedure, the solution is spit out.

If a burning sensation appears during the rinses, use an aqueous solution, diluting 15 ml of the preparation with 30 ml of water.

Restriction - children under 12 years.

Tablets

For effective anesthesia and elimination of symptoms of inflammation, 1 tablet of Tantum Verde is absorbed to complete dissolution no more than 4 times a day.

Can be administered to children over 3 years of age.

Side effects and contraindications

Possible negative manifestations include:

• Local reactions in the form of dryness of the oral mucosa, burning sensations or numbness of tissues;
• Development of an allergic reaction in the form of a rash on the skin;
• Increased drowsiness.

On prescription of the doctor the drug can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding, strictly observing the dosage.

Tantum Verde in tablets is contraindicated in the presence of a patient with an anemia of phenylketonuria. A common contraindication for all forms is hypersensitivity to any component of the drug.
