Estelite Sigma Quick is the latest composite composition for tooth restoration from the Japanese company Tokuyama Dental. This universal light-curing, radiopaque composition with high aesthetic properties, polymerized in a very short time( one layer - 10 seconds).
Thanks to submicron filling, the front and chewing teeth can easily be restored by Estelaite. In addition, the composition is applicable for different types of carious cavities. The occlusal surface and the area of the contact point are also amenable to restoration with the help of Japanese material.
High strength Estelite nanocomposite provides excellent physical and mechanical properties due to its composition, 82% of which is silicon-zirconium filler. In this regard, the polymerization shrinkage of the composite is minimal.
The material is widely used in dental practice because of its versatility, simplicity and convenience when working with it.
Find the right color will not be difficult because of the range of opalescent shades. There are 20 species. The material is well polished, and the natural shine remains for a long time. And, of course, strength. The composition is wear-resistant, abrasion is minimal.

Features of composition and form of release
Until recently, the best sealing material was considered microhybrid. But their shortcomings, such as weak strength, modeling difficulties and a non-aesthetic surface, forced manufacturers to develop more advanced material. This is the microstructure filling Estelite composite.
The basis of the material is a monomer with bis-glycidimethyl methacrylate and triethylene glycol dimethacrylate. Rapid polymerization is provided by a special system that activates this process. The filler is represented by submicron spherical silicon-zirconium and strontium-zirconium particles, whose average size is 0.2 μm.
The visible light is longer than the particle size, which allows for ideal polishing and smooth surfaces, and improved light scattering provides a chameleon effect. Form of release Estelite Sigma - oddozy( 0.2 g) and syringes for 3.8 g.
How it works
When using a composite dentine structures are filled simultaneously, which allows obtaining the same depth of demineralization and penetration of adhesive substances. The monomer forms a continuous structure as a result of its full penetration. The edge gap in this case is not formed, and the construction is monolithic.
Despite the condition of the surface of the enamel( dry, moist, dissected, not prepared), the clutch is reliable and qualitative.
The clinician accurately determines the application limits due to the special pigment pink color, which completely disappears after the monomer surface is cured. Work takes a minimum amount of time, while providing high strength, quality and aesthetically attractive appearance.
In addition to quality restoration, it is possible to distinguish other advantages of using Japanese composition, among which reduced permeability of the tooth and a decrease in its sensitivity. And also the impossibility of the development of repeated caries due to the released fluoride ions.
Universalism and aestheticism
The use of nanocomposite is universal. It is suitable for work with both front teeth and lateral teeth. Used for:
- restoration of artificial teeth;
- elimination of interdental spaces and scherbina( diastema);
- layer-by-layer application of thin linings on teeth( composite veneers);
- recovery of all varieties of carious cavities;
- direct manipulation of the front and side teeth, including cutting and chewing their surfaces.
Preparatory procedures and recovery process
When starting to manipulate the composite component, it is necessary:
- Clean the surface of the restored tooth with a paste that does not contain fluoride. Then it is good to wash it.
- Next, you must select the appropriate shade. Estelight has a scale of shades, with which it is easy to determine the choice. But there are factors that need to be addressed. The most important factor is the intensity of white. If there are doubts in the right tone, then choose a shade lighter - do not go wrong. Moistened teeth are always darker, so evaluate the color of dry tooth enamel. After a while after the whitening procedure, the teeth become slightly darker. Therefore, work with such teeth 2-3 weeks after bleaching.
- Isolate the necessary tooth best with a cofferdam( rubberdam, latex curtain).
- Dissection. Sharpen the tooth, creating space for the future design. It is better to make a rifle bevel on the borders of the enamel, in order to get an aesthetic appearance.
- If the work involves manipulation near the pulp, apply a glass-ionic gasket from the paste with calcium hydroxide.
- Treat the tooth with an adhesive system. It is better to use the money from a ruler of one manufacturer. If they are not, make sure that your system is light-curing, not self-curing.
Restoration stage:
- If you are using Estelite Unidos, read the instructions, place them in the dispenser, remove the cap. Apply the paste directly into the cavity, or first on the tablet.
- In the case of a syringe, it is enough to remove the cap and squeeze out the paste, by rotating the syringe handle in the clockwise direction. The material is introduced into the cavity layer by layer.
- Polymerization of every two millimeters of layer is mandatory. Watch the thickness and hardening time. The polymerizer is placed at a distance of two millimeters from the material.
- The final treatment is carried out using fine-grained diamond boron. Use rubber head for polishing.
Important notes
Note the important nuances:
- Pay attention to the integrity of the packing seal in order to avoid falsification or damage to the composition.
- Carry out all handling operations with gloves, do not swallow, inhale, or fall on an unintended surface. If the drug is still on the mucous membrane, skin or clothing, wipe this area with a swab and rinse with water. Clothing can be pretreated with ethyl alcohol and then washed. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with water and a visitor to the ophthalmologist.
- Do not forget about eye protection when using the photopolymerizer and sterilizing tools.
Experience with
In most cases, patients are satisfied with teeth restored with the Estelite nanocomposite.
But it is necessary to immediately stop the restoration process if the patient shows signs of an allergic reaction or excessive sensitivity to the ingredients of the formulation.
When used properly, the risk of side effects is minimal. The only disadvantage may be an individual intolerance or an allergy to methacrylic monomer.
I went to a dental clinic with a problem of increased sensitivity of teeth. Very acute pains occurred when using cold and hot. They said that I had two damaged teeth: on one surface caries, on the second - the average.
Specialist worked with Estelaite Sigma Quick. We did everything quickly, even very much. The pain does not bother anymore. It's been over a year and so far, so good.

When I was a teenager, I accidentally split a part of my front tooth. For about four years I tried to "build up" this chipped piece, but after 6-8 months the problem arose again, becausethe material did not stick. I went to another clinic and the doctor said that she was working with a strong composite of Estelite. For more than two years, the restored area has been completed. And from the aesthetic point of view is not noticeable, there are no flaws.

Cost of material
Cost of one Estelaite syringe, depending on the type of material, is from 1500 to 2000 rubles. A set can be bought more profitable.
For example, an introductory kit of 6 syringes will cost 8,000 - 11,000 rubles, and 9 syringes 15,000 - 18,000 rubles.
Estelite is a durable and convenient material that makes the dentist's work much easier, it's difficult to find analogues, but the following compositions have some similar characteristics: Filtek, Ketak( USA), ESHET-X HD, Ceram( Germany), Gradia Direct( Japan).
