Form release and formulation of

Solcoseryl paste consists of:

- preservatives : methyl parahydroxybenzoate( E218) and propyl parahydroxybenzoate( E216);
- auxiliary components : sodium carboxymethylcellulose( E466), menthol and peppermint oil;
- substances forming the basis of paste: liquid paraffin, gelatin, pectin, polyethylene 350 000.
Pharmacology and mechanism of action
The drug is intended for topical application. Under its influence, stimulation of regeneration of damaged tissues proceeds.
The action of the drug is provided by solcoseryl, a standardized deproteinized dialysate, which is obtained from the blood of dairy calves by ultrafiltration. It contains a number of natural compounds with a low molecular mass, under the influence of which the work of cells is activated.
Solcoseryl promotes the rapid division and renewal of damaged cells, which accelerates the regeneration of tissues in places of wounds or lesions by infection. It is also a stimulant for the production of collagen, it provides a rapid formation of vessels.
Pasta has analgesic effect due to contained in it polidocanol - local anesthetic. It temporarily blocks the nerve endings, which relieves pain in the place of injury or tissue damage. After 2-5 minutes after application of the drug to the damaged tissues in the oral cavity the pain stops. The effect lasts for 3-5 hours.
Solcoseryl dental applied to a damaged area covers the wound, forming a medical layer on it. It protects the affected area from damages of a mechanical or chemical type for about 5 hours.
No studies were conducted on the absorption of the drug, its accumulation in organs and excretion from the body.
Dental indications
Solcoseryl Denta is assigned to patients without age restriction for the following diseases:
- gingivitis;
- alveolitis;
- pemphigus;
- stomatitis;
- periodontal disease.
The paste is also prescribed when the following lesions appear in the oral cavity:
- of the wound of the lips and mucous membrane in the oral cavity;
- jaw fractures;Bedsores under dentures;
- damage after surgery.
Contraindication to the use of the drug is an allergic reaction to any component included in its composition.
Application and dosage regimen
Dental paste Solcoseryl is applied with a thin layer without rubbing on the wound. The procedure is carried out 3 to 5 times a day, depending on the severity of wounds or lesions. Treatment is conducted after meals and before bedtime.
When interacting with saliva, the paste is converted into a kind of film that reliably protects the wound for several hours.
The dosage depends on the size of the affected area. Often, to treat the affected area, it is sufficient to apply 5 mm of the drug squeezed out of the tube. The course of treatment can last until the paste is fully used.
Features of application
The drug should be applied to a pre-treated antiseptic wound. For disinfection, Miramistin solution can be used if stomatitis is treated. In all other cases, it is better to use a solution of Chlorhexidine 0.05%.
Affected or damaged areas are treated with gauze or a tampon impregnated with an antiseptic. After this, the wounds are dried using dry tampons, and only then the paste is applied.
If decubitus formed under dentures is treated, the removable teeth should be dried, applied to them in the area of adherence to the gums, moistened with water and inserted into the oral cavity.
If the oral cavity has affected areas caused by infection, then they must first be treated with appropriate medications that have antibacterial action.
Only after this, the paste can be applied to the wound. Since its composition does not include antimicrobial components, it does not remove the inflammatory process, if such exists in the wound area.
There have been no cases of overdose in the treatment of Solcoseryl Dent, but it is still worthwhile to apply the drug, observing the dosage prescribed in the instructions.
Side effects of
The most common problems can be:
