Greek cuisine

For their rich history, the Greeks have accumulated a considerable culinary experience. The main principles of the national Greek cuisine are the simplicity of cooking, absolutely fresh products, abundant use of a large number of seasonings, and of course, the famous olive oil, without which it is unthinkable to cook most dishes.

Meat and seafood dishes are the basis of the Greek cuisine

The basis of most national meat dishes is lamb or veal, the cooking options of which are quite diverse. They can be roasted on a spit, pre-stuffed with all sorts of goodies, and can put out with vegetables and spices or bake on the grill. But be sure to serve a light sauce avgolemono. If you add soup to this sauce, you get a delicious soup with the same name, but soups for the Greeks are not the main dishes.

With minced meat everything starts from anything, starting with tomatoes and onion scales and ending with the leaves of grapes. It's all baked with the addition of sauces and it turns out either a great dolma, or another no less attractive dish. And what is worth a wonderful vegetable salad choriatiki with pieces of cheese, worldwide known as Greek salad, or suvlakia - a kind of Greek kebab. Necessarily on the dinner table of the Greeks there are olives.

It is worth noting and wonderful Greek strong black coffee, served in small cups with a glass of water, which, depending on the amount of sugar creates a very interesting flavor impression.

And, of course, delicious Greek wines with a rich taste palette, without which the life of the Greeks is simply unthinkable. Of the stronger drinks, grape vodka "cancer" or anise "Uzo" is used, as well as "mastic", processed with mastic wood resin.
