Composition and main properties

The preparation consists of two parts - powder and mixing liquid. The powder of the preparation Silicin-2 is packaged in 24 grams and can be 7 colors: No. 10 - No. 16 (respectively, from light yellow to dark yellow), which allows you to choose a shade close to the shade of the patient's teeth, taking into account all individual peculiarities.

Cement Silicin-PlusThe cement consists of finely ground aluminofluorosilicate glass with microsuspension polyvinyl chloride impurities.

The solution is diluted phosphoric acid, which was partially neutralized with zinc oxide and aluminum hydroxide.

The finished cement adheres quite well to various surfaces - it has adhesive properties. It is also chemically quite stable, it is difficult to destroy it through the influence of other substances.

Now Silicin-2 is out of production. It was replaced by Silicin Plus, which is superior in quality to earlier filling materials.

Technical characteristics of Silicin Plus:

  • mixing time - from 40 to 60 seconds;
  • hardening - from 2 to 7 minutes;
  • strength - 120-140 MPa;
  • translucency - up to 55%.

The drug is produced in the same way as the previous versions in two parts: powder - 50 g and liquid - 30 g.

These characteristics make this cement very practical and therefore a popular filling agent in dentistry.

Purpose of silicate cement

Usually the drug is used to hide the appearance of the correction of incisors and premolars (lateral and anterior teeth). It is used mainly for the localization of cavities on the vestibular surfaces.

The hardened material is very similar in structure to a living tooth - it is easily translucent like tooth enamel and has the same characteristic shine.

Instructions for use

It is necessary to mix the cement in a cold room (18-23 ° C) in the ratio: 1 volume part of liquid to 2.5 parts of powder (5-7 drops per 1 g of powder).

The set includes a measurer for powder and a dropper for a bottle of liquid. It is recommended to rinse them in cold water before use to cool them down.

Knead on a dry plate for about one minute. The powder should be added in two parts, simultaneously increasing the mixing speed. At first you will have to make an effort, since the mixture is very viscous.

Stir carefully in a circular and wave-like motion so that all components of the drug react with each other. We must not forget about the observance of cleanliness during the whole process.

The finished material can be used within 3 minutes. With superficial pressure with a spatula, a wet mark appears on the correctly mixed product, which does not extend beyond the touch mark by more than 1 mm. If you added too much powder and the cement turned out to be very thick, then it should not be diluted by adding more liquid.

In this case, you should prepare another batch of cement. The drug is injected into the oral cavity in several portions, otherwise the filling will lose its integrity. It takes 5-7 minutes for the filling to harden.

Terms and conditions of storage

The drug should be kept in a dry and warm place at a temperature of 15-25 ° C. If the temperature regime is not observed, the liquid part will crystallize and become unusable.

Both bottles (both with powder and liquid) should always be stored with a tightly closed cap, otherwise dust may get inside and then the density will change, which will adversely affect the setting.

A very important point is to monitor the consistency of the batches of the powder ingredient and the liquid - the prepared preparation is unusable if the batches do not match. The shelf life is approximately 2.5 years.
