Despite the constant improvement of dental treatment technologies, perforation was and remains a problem. It occurs in nine percent of cases from the statistics of all complications during dental treatment.
However, the emergence of a drug such as Pro Root is intended to reduce the chances of this type of complication, and to optimize the process of its treatment. The hole is a material for direct closure of the pulp, as well as restoration of the internal channel if damaged.
Pro Root MTA in dentistry is a material used for restorative operations on the root system of damaged teeth. Easy to use, able to set even in a humid environment, easy to use, Prorut is a very profitable solution and choice for the dentist.
Designed to seal the channel between the outer and inner parts of the tooth. It is a powdery substance consisting of microscopic particles that are cemented during a chemical reaction with water.
When moisture gets on it, this drug forms a gel-like paste, which then hardens and turns into a solid barrier. Perforation itself is the result of a mistakenly created communication channel between the outer enamel and the inner parts of the tooth.

Dignity Prorut
Possessing unique properties, the material has a sufficient number of advantageous differences from its counterparts:
- ease of use;
- high biological compatibility;
- curing in an environment with high humidity;
- no soft tissue inflammation when applied.
It also performs a number of functions, such as:
- complete closure of the pulp;
- seals the upper part of the tooth and root, thus ensuring complete closure of the defective area;
- Prorut applied to the pulp promotes faster and more painless healing;
- forms renewed cement cells;
- reduces bacterial contamination in comparison with other similar materials;
- due to its unique characteristics, it provides complete and reliable hardening even in an environment with a high moisture content - treatment and renewal of the state of a decayed tooth root.
Prescribing the drug
Indications for use are:
- filling the upper part of the tooth root;
- renewal of the integrity of the canal holes in the root and the role of the blocking element;
- while updating the channel in the system during procedural treatment;
- used for direct closure of the pulp.
There are no restrictions and contraindications for use.
It's important to know:
- Containers with the Pro Root preparation, intended for restoration operations of the root system teeth are prescribed to be stored in a place inaccessible to moisture, securely packed and away from sunlight. rays.
- The product should be applied immediately after mixing with water in order to avoid dehydration during shrinkage.
- This material should be applied no higher than the root of the tooth and the pulp, because due to its natural characteristics it can give such an unpleasant effect as the loss of the color of the tooth enamel.
How to knead the material?
According to the instructions for use, mixing Prorut MTA consists of the following steps:
- open the container with the drug and transfer it to the surface for subsequent mixing;
- carefully open the container with the curing liquid and place its contents next to the powder;
- carefully carry out the process of mixing the liquid component with the powder, use the mixing stick from the kit;
- the mixing of the two components should be carried out for about sixty seconds to ensure mixing of the components and reliable moistening of the particles.
The hardening of Prorut differs from that of other cementitious preparations. Accurate and delicate mixing of the components of the product will make the material more convenient and obedient to use.
If necessary, there is an additional capsule in the Prorut MTA kit, you can add one or two drops to bring the drug to the desired consistency. Distilled water can also be used. The remaining liquid must be disposed of.
How is the drug used?
When a tooth is renewed after the destruction of bone tissue and the restoration of perforation in the tooth system:
- To apply cofferdam, carry out a thorough cleaning of the canal from unnecessary objects, such as sawdust, using special tools for treating the space in the root of the tooth and regularly spraying it with a liquid containing hydrochloride sodium.
- Install the filling for a while, blocking access to the damaged area of the tooth.
- A week later, after applying coffidram, extract CaOH from the root system, also spraying it with a liquid with sodium hydrochloride.
- Dry the damaged area of the tooth with special paper swabs and install in the damaged area.
- Conduct obturation treatment places at the root in the nearest area from the detected defect.
- Prepare the cementitious material in accordance with the instructions for use.
- Using the application probe from the supplied kit, apply the Pro Root to the area of the detected tooth defect. Use a small plunger to tamp the mixture into the damaged area, and also use paper and cotton swabs.
- Make sure the drug has been placed correctly. A snapshot with X-ray. If it was not possible to create a strong barrier from the material, it must be washed with liquid from the area of tooth damage and repeated application.
- Place a swab moistened with water into the formed canal in the tooth and fill it with materials for restoration work for a period of four hours or more.
- As soon as the period of four hours has passed, or during the next lesson, using a rubber dam, inspect the Prorut material. He is obliged to harden to the required state. If the composition does not harden, wash the material and reapply it.
- If the mixture hardens successfully, treat the rest of the cavity. The drug Prorut should become a permanent filling in place of the defective area of the tooth.
You can use the ultrasonic nozzle to apply the material at medium power. Spraying with a solution in this case is not necessary.
Filling of the upper part of the tooth canal
The filling steps include the following:
- Apply a rubber dam, thoroughly cleanse the canal from sawdust and half-life products, applying special tools for treating the space in the root and regularly spraying it with a liquid containing sodium hydrochloride.
- Conduct ultrasound treatment of the damaged cavity up to the first grade.
- Dry the damaged area of the tooth with special paper swabs and install in the damaged area.
- Carry out canal treatment in the nearest area from the detected defect.
- Prepare the Prorut material in accordance with the instructions for use.
- Using a special dispenser probe for placing the hole from the supplied kit, insert the hole into the area of the detected defect. Use a small plunger to tamp the material into the damaged area, as well as use paper and cotton swabs.
- Make sure the drug has been placed correctly. An X-ray photograph will help to make sure that the Prorut is placed correctly. If it was not possible to create a durable barrier from the material, it must be washed with liquid from the damaged area and repeated application attempt.
Recovery of resorption
The procedure includes the following stages:
- Using a rubber dam, finish the work in the cavity using burs at high speed while constantly wetting with water.
- Install the seal temporarily.
- After a week from the day of the operation, extract CaOH from the tooth, carry out the necessary processing.
- Rinse the cavity and the surrounding area with a 5% sodium hydrochloride solution. If bleeding occurs, it must be controlled with a sterile-treated cotton swabny solution.
- Carry out Pro Root preparation in accordance with the instructions in the instructions.
- Taking a miniature applicator with a ball-shaped nozzle, apply a small amount of the mixture to the exposed area.
- Drain excess moisture in the work area with cotton wool.
- Knead.
- Using the supplied probe, apply the drug to the operated area.
- Check the correct placement using an X-ray.
- Fill the cavity and place a tampon on it.
- During the subsequent procedure, check the degree of solidification. If it is not completely frozen, clear the channel from it and re-apply.
Creation of a pulp barrier
To create a reliable pulp barrier, you need to adhere to the following rules:
- Using a rubber dam, finish the work in the tooth cavity using burs at high speeds with continuous wetting with water.
- If caries has been found, it should be removed using a rounded bur at low speeds, or it should be removed manually using appropriate instruments.
- Rinse the cavity and the surrounding area with a 5% sodium hydrochloride solution. If bleeding occurs, it must be controlled with a cotton swab treated with a sterile solution.
- Prepare the Prut in accordance with the instructions in the instructions.
- Taking a miniature applicator with a ball-shaped nozzle, apply a small amount of the drug Prorut to the exposed area.
- Drain excess moisture in the work area with cotton wool.
- Apply the cushioning material, creating a coating for the drug, and polymerize in accordance with the prescription of the instructions for it.
- Etch the rest of the treated area with 37% phosphoric acid solution for fifteen seconds. Then carefully treat the etched area.
- Drain the cavity as gently and gently as possible, the dentin should remain slightly damp. Then carry out polymerization.
- The restoration work is being completed with the application of a Spectrum type composite, or use any analogue that is suitable in terms of parameters.
- At the next visit, the patient is assessed the condition of the pulp. The regularity of checking its condition and viability should be carried out every three months, monitoring its condition using data obtained from X-rays.
Notes on use
Lack or excess of fluid reduces the strength characteristics of the cementing element. The material goes through a curing cycle in four hours, but the time of its use in work does not exceed five minutes. If you need more time to work, you should cover the mixed preparation with gauze, preventing moisture from leaving the treated area.
In conclusion, it should be said about the choice of this drug as a means of restoring the integrity of the damaged root.
Having such properties as fast solidification in a moist environment of the oral cavity, plasticity and ease of use, restoration of damaged tissues and even an increase in the growth of new cells, the material becomes an excellent choice for dental operations on the tooth and its root system.
Pro Root also allows you to completely close access to the perforated canal. Its direct purpose is to restore tissue inside the tooth when it is damaged and to close access to the damaged area.
