Sleep is a mysterious and little-studied phenomenon. Even in our pragmatic age, when scientific thinking is the norm for the majority, we cannot clearly explain what exactly happens to a person in this physiological state.
Since ancient times, people have attached great importance to dreams. They were written down, interpreted, tried to predict the future on the basis of dreams.

Famous interpretations of dental dreams
Attempts to systematize dreams have been made for over 2000 years. Dream interpretations still have not gone out of use, and those who want to solve the mystery of strange visions have not decreased.
One of the most disturbing can be considered the vision of sick teeth, because in reality this problem is very painful. Here are the explanations of the most famous interpreters of dental dreams.
Miller's interpretation
Teeth in dreams do not bode well: often this is a sign of illness, you will feel anxiety or meet a person who will upset you. Their loss is unambiguously unfortunate, ill health, and other hardships. If you dream that the removal is performed by a doctor, you will probably end up in a hospital.
But if in the vision you are surrounded by toothless people, then this may indicate that your enemies are powerless and weak, and nothing threatens you, at least in the near future.
Someone brushing their teeth is not good news. Probably you will become a source of well-being for this person. And luck will not notice you.
You should not gnaw hard objects in a dream, otherwise you will face truly severe trials, and it is not a fact that you will emerge victorious in the battle with your own destiny.
Want some good news? May you dream of a beautiful snow-white smile. In this case, you can hope that soon you will be surrounded by cheerful and kind people. Perhaps you will go on vacation with friends.
Here are some of the most common circumstances in which people see teeth in their dreams, as described by Miller:
- in a glass - poverty and drunkenness;
- artificial - for testing;
- to clean is a hard struggle;
- to lose - your work is in vain;
- knocked out - you are surrounded by enemies;
- spat out - to illness;
- hurts - problems await. If you saw a person in a dream, and then you dream of a bad tooth, then the troubles will be associated with him;
- hit on the jaw - you have been negligent or careless about your duties;
- the child has lost a tooth - you could not prevent close troubles and you will be disappointed;
- fangs - be on your guard. Hidden ill-wishers all around.
A dentition without gaps dreams of the return of lost values. If your teeth whiten in a dream, then you will overcome all obstacles, and your difficulties are temporary.
What Nostradamus says
The famous fortuneteller interpreted such dreams in his own way, but also not to the benefit of the dreamer.
Torn teeth can mean a quick loss of a loved one.
Dropped out indicate your laziness and indecision, which can lead to disastrous consequences and nullify your undertakings.
Emptiness in the dentition - you lose health. The loss of a loved one, breaking ties, quarrel is possible.
Bleeding - you or people close to you are forced to fight a serious illness.
Teeth that are unnaturally colored, rotten, and toothache are all signs of health problems.
Freud on dreams
Recognized as a doc in the study of the human psyche, Sigmund Freud used dreams as a window into the mysterious world of the subconscious. He was the first among researchers to try to interpret dreams using the methodology of science as a tool.
His scandalous theory still causes a lot of controversy today. Freud argued that a tooth in a dream indicates a person's latent anxiety before punishment or the disclosure of a shameful secret.
Torn out for men - a subconscious fear of castration as a punishment for engaging in masturbation.
If a woman dreams of healthy teeth, this indicates her desire to have a healthy child.
Sick, cranky - you tend to self-indulge in yourself without a partner.
You should not try to understand dreams on your own, using the works of Freud as a guide. Let a qualified psychoanalyst do it. Otherwise, you run the risk of getting completely confused, imagining something that is not even in sight.
Other interpretations
Perhaps the first who tried to find a rational explanation for dreams in which toothache is present was the famous dream researcher David Loff. He argued that some people tend to clench their jaws strongly during sleep, which leads to unpleasant visions with signs of pain.
Otherwise, Loff completely agrees with his colleagues: the loss of teeth, their loss, colored by nightmarish visions, bleeding, pain - all this prophesies illness and failure.
The interpreter of dreams, writer and palmist Yevgeny Tsvetkov calls for caution in interpreting dreams, because not all visions are prophetic.
Predicting the future based on a dream is not easy. Our subconscious mind often plays with us. But there are many cases when it was thanks to dreams that people found the right solutions or were able to avoid danger.
Here are some interpretations according to Tsvetkov:
- unhealthy tooth - illness, failure, failure of the enterprise;
- loss can mean the imminent death of a relative;
- a toothless person - a meeting with an ill-wisher;
- flux - luck awaits you: a promotion at work or you will find an occupation that will bring profit;
- a toothless baby means nothing;
- if the teeth have fallen out, and new ones have grown in their place, wait for a change
- an even and white dentition dreams of success, health, well-being.
It is surprising that completely different peoples agree on one thing: bad teeth in a dream - to trouble. Even the shamans of the Maya Indians believed that the ill health of the oral cavity during sleep does not bode well.
The wise Mayan shamans knew what to do in such cases. We must take three chicken eggs. Throw one into the water with the words "where the water is, there is trouble", the second is silently burned, and the third is buried in the ground.
Instead of a conclusion
An intelligent person, once said: "The main thing is a sense of proportion ..."
You should not blindly trust everything that you saw in a dream. Often this is just a play of the imagination of a weakly asleep person.
Wish you good dreams and may your smile always be full and radiant.
