AIREX-C (Airex-C): cement for fixing dentures and making fillings, instructions for use

Ayrex is a cement for fixing dentures and making seals. Its trade name is AIREX-C. Glass ionomer materials, to which it belongs, are a mixture of a filler and a polymer framework.

The filler contains fluoroaluminosilicate glass. The polymer framework is represented by a combination of several acids: polyitaconic, polyacrylic and polyoleic.

When the powder interacts with the liquid, the cement hardens and takes on the required shape. The properties of glass ionomer materials can vary depending on the components that make up the powder.

Distinctive features of the Airex-C

This new material is gaining popularity due to its characteristics that make it very easy to use.

These include:

1. High biocompatibility. Ayrex has no toxic effect on dental tissue and oral cavity. It is harmless to the body, therefore, when using it, negative reactions almost never occur.
2. Ease of use. The material mixes easily and quickly acquires a uniform consistency, so it is convenient to work with.

5. Connection strength. Airex cement is reliably connected to the tooth tissue and metal parts of the prosthesis. This feature ensures long-term use.
6. Fast hardening. After the completion of the working process, the material quickly acquires the required hardness. Moreover, it is characterized by a sufficient amount of time during which it is possible to change its shape by performing work.
7. Chemical stability. Ayrex almost does not absorb water, thanks to which it is possible to maintain its shape.

Despite these advantages, care must be taken when handling the material. Some patients may be allergic to its composition, which is why they have to use other types of cement. Its components are not recommended to be mixed with products of other companies.

Instructions for use

The material is sold with:

1. Powder - 20 g.
2. Liquid - 12 ml.
3. Putty knife.
4. Mixing pallets.
5. Measuring spoon.

To achieve maximum efficiency from the use of the material, it is necessary to apply it correctly. Airex-S cement is supplied with instructions for use in Russian.

The main stages of use:

1. Preparation of the required number of components. Powder and liquid are taken in the amount of 1.8 and 1 g, respectively.
2. Mixing of ingredients. The liquid and powder are placed in one container and mixed for 20-40 seconds.
3. Application. Before him, you need to clean the work surface and dry it. After that, you can do the work.
4. Removal of surplus. It is carried out when the cement begins to harden. This is done with clean, moistened gauze.

It is important to store the components in suitable conditions. The liquid bottle must be tightly closed with a lid. It and the powder are supposed to be protected from exposure to sunlight and moisture.

Mixing is carried out using a special non-metallic spatula. It is also necessary to avoid getting the liquid or mixture on the soft tissues of the mouth or skin. Do not use Airex-S cement if you are allergic to glass ionomer materials.
