How to clean the pomel from the rind

When cleaning the fruit, you can use any method that will be convenient for you. You can clean pomelo like a regular orange or grapefruit. With your hands remove the peel, and the fruit itself is disassembled into slices. Or just cut it with rings.

There is also a classic method of citrus purification, which is used in his homeland. To do this, it is necessary to arm yourself with a knife, a cutting board and a bowl, where you will put the cleared lobules.

First of all, wash the broom with warm water. Place it on the chopping board and cut off the tip. The rind of this fruit is thick enough, so do not be afraid to cut too much.

Then cut along the entire length of the citrus. Here you need to be careful not to touch the flesh. Put the knife aside and use your fingers to remove the peel where the incision was made. Before you is a fruit that looks like an ordinary orange, and the color is similar to grapefruit.

Next, clean it from excess white film and break it into slices. They also need to be cleaned, otherwise the taste of the fruit will clog the bitterness from the film. Here again, you need to take a knife and cut off the seam that connects the film to each lobule. After that, the skin can be easily removed by hand. Peeled slices in a pre-prepared bowl.

This way you can clean not only pomelo, but grapefruit, and some varieties of oranges with a thick skin.

If you want to get juice from pomelo, pre-heat it with boiling water or put it in a hot water tank for several minutes. After that, by pressing movements, roll the citrus on a flat surface. Cut across into two halves and squeeze out the juice. Conducted manipulations will allow you to get juice much more than if you just cut and squeezed.

The cleared fruit can be eaten simply so, and it is possible to use in different vegetable and fruit salads. The juice is drunk both in pure form and diluted with water, adding honey or sugar. Also it can be evaporated along with the sugar and get the sauce for some dessert. Juice will be appropriate and as a filling for vegetable and fruit salads.
