Coconut oil is one of the most used in cosmetology. It has proven beneficial properties for the skin and hair, improving their condition and protecting against harmful effects. Regular use of coconut oil for sunburn will help reduce the harmful effects of sunlight and get a smooth and beautiful skin color.
Useful properties for skin
Coconut oil has a rich composition of skin-friendly substances that give it silky and well-groomed appearance. Regular use of funds based on coconut oil moisturizes, nourishes and restores dry and damaged skin, helps to remove inflammation and irritation.
All coconut oil used in cosmetology can be conditionally divided into 2 groups:
- refined;
- is unrefined.
Purified becomes cheaper than unrefined. It is believed that it has a lower saturation, but retains most of the useful properties. After refining, the oil acquires a straw-yellow hue, becomes hypoallergenic, but loses its characteristic coconut flavor. It can be used to care for sensitive and delicate skin.
Unrefined oil looks very much like purified. A characteristic difference is the delicious coconut smell of crude oil. It is more saturated and more often used for hair and scalp care.
Coconut oil, both in itself and in the composition of caring or protective means, is able to tighten the skin, restoring its elasticity and elasticity, even wrinkles, even deep enough - all this is possible due to the stimulation of the production of its own collagen and elastane. It is rich in amino acids, vitamins and minerals, as well as lauric, myristic acids, which give it a density, the ability to take care of very dry skin and antibacterial properties.
Coconut oil also contains hyaluronic acid, which provides moisture to the skin and retain moisture in it, normalizing the water balance. Due to the presence of this acid, it is quickly absorbed into the skin, leaving no greasy shine and not clogging the pores.
Due to its composition, the ability to moisturize the deep layers of the skin and restore its elasticity, coconut oil is referred to as a rejuvenating agent that can slow the aging of the skin and activate the process of its regeneration. This is facilitated by the presence in the composition of vitamin E, which is a powerful antioxidant.
In addition to the above properties, coconut oil also has the ability:
- to soften the keratinized skin, heal small wounds or cracks;
- to eliminate dryness and peeling of the skin;
- strengthen the immune system of the skin, reduce the likelihood of loss of beneficial bacteria to protect when bathing.
Oily skin wearers prefer to use hot pressed oil, as it is less dense. Refuse to use it if the skin is prone to the formation of comedones and blockage of pores, as well as with a pronounced allergic reaction to most esters and cosmetics.
Application before sunburn
Coconut oil has a UV filter 8, so it can be used as a sunscreen before sunburn. If the skin is very light, it is better to supplement it with special means with a higher level of SPF-protection, especially for light-skinned people and albinos. Regular application of coconut oil before going out on the street will not only protect the skin from the harmful effects of sunlight, but also contribute to its moistening and a more even tan.
For the result to be more noticeable, some rules should be observed:
- only apply it to cleansed skin. Before using the oil, you can take a bath or shower with a soft body scrub;
- after scrub it is necessary to rinse the skin with cool water so that the pores become narrower and do not accumulate sebaceous secretions;
- on the skin cause pure coconut oil, distributing it along the body with massage movements.
Similar procedures before each exit to the sun in the hot season protect the skin from the unpleasant consequences of sunbathing - redness, peeling, discomfort. In the evening, the remnants of the remedy must be washed off the skin using a shower gel or a mild soap.
Coconut oil gives the skin a light shine effect, and stimulates the production of melanin in the upper layers of the skin. As a result, the tan appears faster and lasts longer - the skin will delight with a beautiful tan even in the middle of winter and will not go around.
In summer, especially during peak sun activity( from 11 to 14 hours), when aggressive UVA rays predominate, it is better to supplement such care with special sunscreens.For sunbathing in the sun
Application of coconut oil for tanning will get a smooth chocolate tan without unpleasant consequences for the skin. The content of vitamin E prevents the degeneration of cells under the action of salt water and sunlight better.
Coconut oil solidifies into a dense white substance at a temperature of +25, but quickly melts from touching the body. Before going to the beach, it is applied to clean skin, which will allow tanning to lie more evenly, and also protects against sticking of sorines and sand to the skin, clogging the pores.
To enhance the effect, you can proceed as follows:
- in the morning you need to take a contrast shower using a scrub and wool to remove a layer of dead skin cells;
- after the shower does not need to wipe the body with a towel, just enough to shake off excess water;
- on coconut oil is applied to damp skin, rubbing it with circular massage movements;
- before the exit to the beach on the skin cause sunscreen.
Double treatment will more reliably protect the skin during the active sun, as well as from the action of salt water and wind.
Interesting! Also, double processing helps to "attract" harmless solar to the best and more even tan, which is also called "tropical".
Recipe for sunscreen
You can prepare your own sunscreen for sunburn. To do this, mix in equal parts of shea butter and coconut, and then add to them two pieces of olive oil. Shea has a higher level of SPF-16, so in combination with coconut, it will provide more reliable protection for the skin. Solid shea butter and coconut oil - melt and mix with olive, then mix thoroughly. Apply this cream should be 10-15 minutes before going to the beach.
Prescription of a spray for sunburn
In some cases it is much more convenient to use not a cream, but a spray. It's also easy to cook by yourself. To do this, you need the following components:
- castor - 100 ml;
- coconut and shea - 20 g;
- ampoule of vitamin E.
First you need to warm the castor oil to about 30 degrees, and then add solid ingredients to it. The mixture is stirred until the shea and coconut melt, mixing with the castor oil. After this, vitamin E is added to the spray and mixed again. The finished liquid is poured into a bottle with a spray gun.
Before using the spray, the jar needs to be shaken to mix all the ingredients again, because they are separated due to their different density. If during the preparation of coconut oil is poorly mixed with the base, at room temperature, the spray can thicken. If this happens, it is enough to heat the mixture again.
Important! Castor oil stimulates the growth of hair on the body. To avoid this, castor oil can be replaced with another base, for example, olive.
Any oils, vitamins, for example, vitamin A or esters can be added to the spray to add flavor. The main thing is that they are not allergic. Since the spray is made from natural ingredients, it has a shelf life of only 3 months.
For the solarium
In the solarium, the skin is exposed to a more active ultraviolet exposure than in the open sun, so it needs more protection and moisturizing. To do this, conventional sunscreen is better to mix with coconut oil in a proportion of 3 to 1, and complement the protective measures with pure coconut oil.
The optimal action option will be the algorithm:
- 2 hours before going to the solarium you need to take a shower with a soft caring gel or soap;
- after the shower, coconut oil is applied to the skin. Other caregivers, as well as perfumes do not need to be applied;
- before the session in the solarium on the skin, apply a mixture of sunscreen and coconut oil, prepared in advance;
- in case of a long session( more than 10 minutes), after half an hour after it also apply a clean oil to the skin;
- you can take a shower in 2-3 hours.
With this use of coconut oil for a solarium, you can get a smoother chocolate tan, protect the skin from burns, harmful UV rays, and moisten it to avoid redness, peeling, tightness.
If sunburn or irritation occurs after a session in the solarium, coconut oil can be used as an emergency medicine. To do this, it is applied in a pure form to the affected areas or mixed with the "Panthenol" in equal parts. To quickly remove the unpleasant sensations from a burn, you need to act according to the following scheme:
- at the first signs of a burn( itching, tightness, discomfort, pain), a clean oil or a mixture with it is applied to the skin;
- after that the skin can be soothed by taking a cool shower( with a water temperature of about 22-25 degrees);
- on a wet body cause coconut oil, distributing it with soft massage movements;
- the first time it is better to wear loose clothes from natural fabrics. The main discomfort will disappear after a few hours, and a full recovery will occur in 2-3 days.
Purified( refined) coconut oil does not cause allergic reactions, so it can be used for any type of skin. The only exception is the use of it for the care of oily skin of the face, prone to the formation of comedones or acne.
After tanning
Coconut oil can be used not only to obtain a beautiful tan, but also to prevent or eliminate the effects of a long stay in the sun. Due to the high content of amino acids, minerals, coconut oil after sunburn restores skin cells and stimulates the production of collagen.
To eliminate the effects of sunburn, you can use refined oil in its pure form or prepare a mask from unrefined oil and special cream or sour-milk products. Soothing mask is applied to clean skin - before applying it, take a shower with a soft baby soap or gel.
With sunburns
If staying on the beach resulted in the appearance of sunburn, coconut oil will help relieve pain, soothe burning, itching, and swelling. The antibacterial effect prevents bacteria from entering the skin, the appearance of inflammatory processes, and the restoring properties contribute to the early regeneration of the skin.
To remove swelling, a feeling of tightness and pain, you can prepare several variants of masks with coconut oil for sunburn:
- A mixture of coconut oil and "Panthenol" in equal parts.
- Two parts of the coconut are mixed with one part of the aloe juice.
You can also lubricate the burnt areas with clean coconut oil, pre-cooling it.
If after a beach or a long stay in the sun no unpleasant symptoms are felt, it is better to still lubricate the skin to prevent the appearance of redness, discomfort, stiffness caused by dehydration and prolonged exposure to ultraviolet light.
Regular application of coconut oil for tanning and after it will get the most pleasure from the beach season, avoid the unpleasant consequences of prolonged exposure to the sun, and most importantly - get a smooth, radiant chocolate tan that will remain on the skin until the winter.
