The disease is chronic, completely incurable, but in the early stages of treatment the development of pathology can be prevented and normal vision preserved.

|
Eye drops are available as a clear solution of a greenish-yellow hue in a vial( 5 ml), packed in a cardboard box with instruction manual.
Pharmacological action of
After instillation of a 0.2% solution twice a day for 10 days, its concentration in the blood plasma is extremely low( mean value 0.06 ng / ml).
Binding of brimonidine to proteins in the blood after local administration of drops is at the level of 29%.
After two weeks of instillation, the concentration of the active substance on the eyes can be 3-17 times higher than after a single use of Luxfen. In the absence of melanin accumulation is not observed.
The solution for a maximum of a couple of hours can reduce IOP by 10-12 units. Actions last for 12 hours. The drug is effective due to decreased fluid production in the eyes and increased outflow.
As a result, intraocular pressure decreases, not significantly affecting the cardiovascular and respiratory system.
The drug is metabolized in the liver. The active component with metabolic products by the kidneys is excreted.
