Form and composition

Apexed without iodoform in the composition contains:

  • calcium hydroxide for the regeneration of dental tissues;
  • calcium phosphate, which actively stimulates the formation of osteoblasts, is intended for mineralization of bone tissue of the tooth;
  • X-ray contrast filler;
  • pasting agent, thanks to which small cavities are easily filled.

The aodicant with iodoform contains 40% of this substance, which ensures long-term antibacterial action and prevents repeated infection of the tooth.

Produce a filling material in the form of a homogeneous paste, completely ready for use. Packed in syringes of 2 g. The kit may include special curved needles( 5 pcs.).

This material relates to a long-hardening type. Certified and complies with GOST P 51059-97.Produces the company VladMiVa( Russia).

Basic properties of

Calcium hydroxide due to high pH level( ˃12) has a long antiseptic effect. Application of Apexdent promotes:

  • with a long bactericidal action on inflamed dental tissues and periapical area;
  • creation of a strong dentine barrier and creation of conditions for the formation of the dental root( within 3 - 6 months, the apical root hole is formed);
  • recovery of hard dental tissues.

After the application of a dental paste with iodoform during chronic periodontitis, it is possible to seal the canals in the next 6 to 14 months.

If the filling pasta was removed during operation, it gradually dissolves. The patient will not experience pain and discomfort.

Scope

Apexdent is suitable for the treatment of depulsed teeth( when the nerve is removed).Pasta without iodoform is prescribed for:

  • tooth apexification( the process of formation of the apex of the tooth root), when the process of root growth is not completed;
  • closing a wide apex opening;
  • treatment pulpitis( inflammation of the dental tissues, nerve);
  • treatment of chronic periodontitis of molars, in which roots are formed;
  • canal sealing( difficult to pass) after depulpation.

A paste containing iodoform is used in similar processes in patients with tooth tissues.

The specific difference is that it is more often assigned to handle infected channels. It is indicated for periodontitis with chronic course.

Iodoform-containing paste is also widely used for filling dental channels. The remedy is used for:

  • treatment of the inflammation of the tooth shell in a chronic form;
  • bone resorption( destruction of bone tissue) and perforation of the dental root;
  • infection of the dental canals;
  • lesion of the nerve and surrounding tissues;
  • not formed at the apex of the tooth root.

The material is used in periapical( peri-vertex) zones in combination with gutta-percha pins.

Method of application

If the paste( without iodoform) is used in the treatment of periodontitis, the procedure is as follows:

  • into the prepared and cleaned channel lay the facility, using the channel filler, leave for 7 to 10 days;
  • is insulated with a swab, put a temporary seal, sealing the tooth;
  • at a set time, the paste is removed, the channels are cleaned and washed with a special formulation( sodium hypochlorite);
  • is dried, a new portion of material is injected( for 1 month).

This procedure is carried out every 3 months, for 6 to 15 months. Three months after the first treatment, X-rays are done to evaluate the effect. Then, depending on the results, put a permanent seal or continue therapy.

Treatment of pulpitis with an incomplete growth of the root apex of the tooth provides:

  • pulpotomy with anesthesia;
  • canal washing;
  • direct coating with processed pulp material;
  • sealing paste with a tampon, setting a temporary seal;
  • replacement of the drug in 3 - 4 weeks for a fresh portion;
  • X-ray control, repetition of the course until the final formation of the root;
  • installation of permanent seal.

When Apexdent is applied for tooth apexification, the following are produced:

  • traditional processing of the tooth channel;
  • flushing with a special formulation without pressure;
  • drying and insertion of a filling paste;
  • setting a temporary seal followed by an X-ray;
  • replacement for a new portion( in 3 - 4 weeks).

Approximately 3 months after the start of treatment, the condition of the dental root is determined. Depending on the results, the treatment continues or closes the canal with a permanently fixed seal.

Special instructions

After using the syringe with the material, the needle must be removed. Clean the tip and close it tightly. Do not allow air to enter, otherwise the paste hardens in the opening of the syringe.

Apexdent with iodoform may cause an allergic reaction. Before using it, you need to know if the patient has an allergy to iodine.

Cost and analogues

Apexent without iodoform can cost from 160 to 260 rubles per packing. With iodoform, the price will be slightly more expensive - from 170 rubles.up to 300 rubles. The material manufacturer is VladMiVa( Belgorod).

There are many analogues to the drug. They are different manufacturer and cost. Foreign analog preparations are: Vitapex( Japan), Metapex( South Korea), Calcept iodo( Russia), Sealapex( USA).
