Pharmacological action

Active substance Fucitalmica is an antibiotic with a polycyclic structure belonging to the fusidin group. The mechanism of its action is aimed at destroying the synthesis of proteins in bacterial cells and blocking the elongation of factor G, which prevents its binding to guanosine triphosphate and ribosomes and interrupts the accumulation of energy necessary for protein synthesis.

The infection cell under this effect is killed. Fucitalmic drops are active against most microbes that cause eye diseases: Staphylococcus aureus, Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pneumoniae. But inactive against: Pseudomonadas spp and enterobacteria.

Drug Interaction

Not investigated.

Assimilation and distribution of

Due to the viscous consistency of the droplets, their double application provides long-term contact with the conjunctiva and a high concentration in the tear fluid of fusidic acid.

After a single application of Fucitalmic drops, the average concentration of the active substance in the tear fluid is:

Time after instillation, hour

Concentration, μg / ml.

1

15,7

3

15,2

6

10,5

12

5,6

In intraocular fluid after a single application, the concentration of fusidic acid is 0.3 μg / ml, after a second dose of 0.8 μg / ml it is reached after an hour and remains12 hours. In the blood serum, the fusidic acid is not detected.

Excretion of

The main part of the dose of the drug - with bile, less than 1% - with urine.

Indications for use

Used for eye damage by bacterial infections from fusidic acid sensitive microbes:

  • blepharitis,

  • keratitis,
  • dacryocystitis,
  • , prevention of complications after surgical operations on the eyes and exposure to them with a laser.

How to use

Effect on the ability to control the mechanisms of

If blurred vision is observed after instillation, from driving an automobile, controlling precise mechanisms and activities requiring rapid psychomotor reactions and increased visual concentration, one should refrain.

Special instructions

  1. Avoid prolonged use( more than 7 days), as this can cause infection of the eye by bacteria insensitive to the drug, including fungi.
  2. Do not touch the edge of the tube to the eyelid and any other surface. Close the tube tightly after each use.

Reviews

The greatest number of positive reviews Futsitalmik receives for its effectiveness in newborns who became infected during childbirth or in the very first days of life. Moms remain satisfied with the treatment of suppuration of the eyes with the use of the drug in combination with massage and rinsing with infusions of herbs.

But it should be understood that the action of Fucitalmic does not extend to all groups of bacteria, so if the improvement does not occur after 3-5 days of treatment, it is necessary to identify the pathogen and select an effective medicine.

In children and adults, Futsitalmik quickly removes pain and itching with barley( after 2-3 installations), inflammation and edema( begin to decrease after 4-6 installations).

In adolescents and adults, the drug is effective in conjunctivitis, blepharitis, and with mild irritations of the outer shells of the eye of an unexplained etiology.

Results of

  • It has a narrow spectrum of action, it fights only with the main pathogens of infections of the outer shells of the eye.
  • Viscous consistency allows the preparation to accumulate in the teary and intraocular fluid, provides a long-term contact with the conjunctiva.
  • To treat infections, it is enough to use twice a day.
  • It is used for the treatment of newborns.
  • It is indicated for keratitis, conjunctivitis, barley.
