Therapeutic effect of

The therapeutic effect of a single-component preparation is based on the interaction of calcium, phosphate and silver ions. As a result of their interaction, new substances are formed: silver orthophosphate and calcium fluoride.

Their action is to destroy the proteins that make up the organic basis of dentin. The channels of the dentin canals are also sealed, which helps to strengthen the tooth from the inside.

One of the main advantages of this treatment option is a soft effect on all tooth tissues, without affecting the pulp. This effect is achieved by filling the dentinal tubules with calcium fluoride, which prevents the silver ions from spreading further.

Two-component argent is used for the treatment of dental caries by silvering. In the enamel the interaction with calcium ions and phosphate is also exactly the same.

The only difference is the deposition of silver in the canals of dentin, which provides a long-term bactericidal effect. Ions act on enzymes that exert a destructive effect on the enamel and dentin of the milk teeth.

Vaseline as a part of the drug is used to isolate the gingival mucosa in the treatment of caries in the cervical region.

A negative aspect is the coloring of hard tooth tissues in gray. Therefore, it is not recommended to use it on incisors or canines.
