Pharmacological properties and mechanism of action
Under the influence of calcium dobesilate on the capillary walls, their functions are regulated: increased permeability, reduced resistance and increased resistance.
Thanks to these processes, microcirculation and tissue nutrition with oxygen is improved. In addition, calcium dobesilate positively affects the state of lymphatic vessels, improving their drainage. Also, under its influence, platelet aggregation decreases, the elasticity of erythrocyte membranes increases and the viscosity of the blood decreases.
The action of the active component of the preparation is in some way achieved by reducing the activity of bradykinin and its direct effect on the vascular endothelium.
The drug also has antihemorrhagic action and eliminates edema.
The drug is slowly absorbed from the digestive tract. Its highest concentration in the blood is reached after 5-7 hours after administration.
Calcium dozesilate does not penetrate the blood-brain barrier. Removal of the drug in large part is provided by the kidneys.
