Varicocele is a disease of the spermatic cord with the expansion of veins. Suffer from this disease are adolescents and men aged 17 to 30 years. In rare cases, the disease is observed at an early age in boys.
The most frequent expansion of veins occurs with varicocele on the left side( less frequent bilateral disturbance and on the right) and is called left-sided because of the anatomically inconvenient location of the spermatic cord almost perpendicular to the renal vein.
The disease is dangerous because if you do not pay enough attention to treatment, you can remain barren due to a violation of the outflow of venous blood from the testicle, or lead to other negative consequences, the development of which leads to severe symptoms until death.
Valves in the vessels do not allow the venous blood to stagnate in one place and, as it were, expel the clots to the heart for further feeding them with oxygen and supplying the bodies with food.
Varicose veins prevent the valves from working properly and the venous blood stagnates in certain areas, disrupting the circulation. When the blood in the testicle circulates incorrectly, it contributes to its heating, which is unacceptable.
Preventative measures
Because the disease is still poorly understood and there are many conjectures about the possibilities of its prevention, several basic methods can be distinguished that will help to exclude varicocele:
- In cases of suspected development of a disorder, a man should independently probe his genitals for tumor or enlargementveins, as well as the presence of pain or burning in the testicles. If these symptoms are detected, it is necessary to consult a doctor immediately, so that the process does not develop to a serious degree.
- At the age of 19 years, it is necessary to undergo a preventive examination with a urologist in case of possible development of the disease.
- If the diagnosis is already made, then you should give up alcohol and smoking. You should have a regular sex life, but sexual intercourse should be fully protected, in order to avoid getting infected with sexually transmitted diseases.
- With existing pelvic diseases( orchitis, epididymitis, prostatitis), they should be treated in a timely manner and no relapse should be allowed.
- Doctors advise to varicocele to undergo surgery to exclude the disease completely. Therefore, when the first symptoms of the disease should not be postponed visiting a doctor for later, it can result in complications and other problems.
- Men should not wear tight underwear, since the testicles should be at a distance from the body in order to have a constant temperature that is below 36.6 degrees.
- Excessive physical activity is dangerous with the expansion of veins, so do not overload the body with exercise or lifting heavy loads.
Relapse prevention of
To avoid recurrence of varicocele, it is necessary to strictly follow the recommendations received from the doctor, and also to apply preventive measures:
- regular sex, but not with excessive loads( after the rehabilitation period);
- mandatory intake of drugs that eliminate stagnation in the intestine and small pelvis;
- should completely abandon bad habits( drinking, smoking, etc.);
- maintain an active lifestyle, mobility and maintain physical health, by the right loads, for example charging);
- after surgery in a few months, a survey is conducted to assess the sexual function and reproductive performance of the male( overall, there is progress and good analysis in most operated patients);
- every six months is recommended to undergo a preventive examination;
- it is necessary to avoid long-term sitting or standing, which leads to stagnation of the circle of blood circulation;
- to eat qualitatively and nourishingly - it is necessary to maintain a healthy form of the body by enriching it with minerals, vitamins and nutrients;
- performing simple exercises will help avoid recurrence of varicocele - squat, pelvic rotation, swinging legs, jogging, doing yoga or dancing;
- carrying out a special testicle massage with an elevated pelvis, is performed so that there is no pain syndrome.
Often for the prevention of varicocele, many patients use folk remedies:
- reception of decoctions of medicinal fees with anti-inflammatory effect ( lemon balm, chamomile, oak bark, thyme, St. John's wort, turn, yarrow);
- application of compresses from the herb for the removal of discomfort after surgery( only after heal stitches).
It should be noted that at the present time, varicocele surgery is not very traumatic and modern operations are considered to be simple with a short rehabilitation period. Be attentive to your health.
