No house is built without a project. So they do not sew clothes without a sketch. Without it, you just can not do this subtle creative process, which requires consideration and various technical nuances. The sketch allows you to clearly understand and imagine how the outfit will look at the final stage of its creation.

Sketch Value

The sketch solves the image structure problems. His developer concentrates his skills as much as possible to draw a future silhouette and determine the color sound. Sketch is a mathematical formula that conveys the essence of a future product. But along with this in the sketch the author expresses his artistic credo, as an artist, graphic artist and painter.

Sketches of models of clothes

As sketches of models of clothes precede direct production of things, then without an artistic idea, there will be a certain malfunction in the work of fashion designers. After all, according to the sketches designers of clothes prepare patterns, technologists develop ways of processing knots of a garment. And even when creating a sketch, the direction of fashion, style, appearance, age and physique are taken into account.

The sketch of the future thing performs 2 main functions:

- allows you to think carefully about the idea and the variant of clothing;

- serves as a detailed instruction for the implementation of this idea.

How to draw clothing sketches

In order to properly execute the design of clothing sketches and to convey the idea of the future model, you need to take into account certain rules for drawing the model.

Sketches begin to draw with the basic proportions of the human figure. When creating a costume or a dress, put a sheet of paper exactly vertically, then draw a straight vertical line. Next, you need to mark 2 points of the silhouette: the top and bottom.

Divide the vertical line into 8 parts and make sure that they are equal. The first upper segment will denote the length of the head, the second cut in half and draw one horizontal line to the shoulders. At the intersection of the 2 and 3 upper segments, the chest line will pass, and between 3 and 4 - the waist line. The hip line is separated by 4 parts from the top. Knees are located at the intersection of 3 and 2 segments from the bottom. The foot line divides the lowest part of the vertical line in half.

A sketch of clothing requires a complete drawing of the silhouette. But if you create a blouse, you can draw it just to the waist. In any case - observe the proportions.

After working through all the main lines, sketch out the basic outline of the figure. The optimal ratio of shoulders and hips is drawn for the average standard figure. It is almost equal. If you create a model for a particular person, then in the sketch, transfer its parameters.

When drawing the main lines, draw a line of hands. The elbows should be placed approximately at the waist line. Lightly intermittent strokes draw the entire sketch of the figure.

Now start drawing the clothes themselves. Just first think about how it will look in its finished form: length, style, etc. Mark the main outlines and determine the length of the product. You can proceed to a careful drawing of the details. Estimate how the main parts will be placed, and in short strokes, mark the places where the clothing parts are sewn. In the end decide which collar or neck the models will fit and draw it. Then decide on the location of the fastener, think about whether you need a belt, pockets and what shape will have all the details of the product.

The final stage of modeling clothes - decorating the finished thing. You can and do not paint in the most detailed and smallest details of the decoration. But be sure to map the places where and how the decor will be located, and also make a sketch of their main parts.

Each element, which you decorate the clothes, should be drawn separately from the main sketch. With softer, discontinuous strokes, indicate the direction of the folds.

Sketching clothes with pencil

You'll need a sharpened pencil and a sheet of paper of any size, but it's better than A4.It should be as tight as possible, because in the creative process it is impossible to do without making adjustments to the drawing. The finished sketch, made with a simple pencil, can be painted using watercolor. So you can see clearly, a successful or not quite a combination of colors, chosen by you.

Which is better: sketch a pencil or use technology to create a sketch?

Of course, modern technology greatly simplifies our life, including work. In addition, they save time. But at the same time, if we are talking about their use in making clothes, this will increase labor productivity and. .. deprive themselves of a part of creativity. That's why many fashion designers still prefer to create sketches in pencil to "feel their future offspring", to see how "a miracle is born" and "to help him to be born."It's like replacing a paper publication with an electronic book. Of course, the latter invention is more convenient, compact, multifunctional and durable, but incomparable with a conventional book that has a unique rustle of pages, its own smell, its history.

It is not so difficult to draw a sketch of clothes on your own. Everyone can cope with this task. It is enough to take into account the basic proportions of the body and come up with a beautiful model of things.
